GMC reg: 4476207Craig Goldsmith (MACantab MB Bchir FRCOphth) graduated in medicine from Cambridge University and after some inspirational eye surgery experience while travelling in Africa he settled on ophthalmology as a career, following time in A&E and general medicine. He specialises in modern small-incision phacoemulsification cataract surgery (including more demanding cases where there is a higher risk of complications), vitreoretinal surgery, diabetic retinopathy and Avastin, Eyelea and Lucentis therapy for retinal vein occlusions, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy, as well as intravitreal implants such as Ozurdex and Iluvien. He has one of the largest case series of Iluvien implants in the UK. Craig is also the Clinical Lead for the East Anglian Diabetic Eye Screening Service and a national peer-reviewer for Public Health England, and was clinical lead for the James Paget eye department until 2014. He has over 35 publications including peer-reviewed papers, articles, and presentations at international conferences.
