GMC reg: 4644592Mr. Arindam Chaudhuri (MBBS (Hons) MS (Cal.) FRCSEd MSc (Lond.) FRCS (Gen Surg) ) was appointed Consultant Vascular Surgeon at Bedford Hospital NHS Trust in March 2008. He qualified from the University of Calcutta in 1989, where he was later awarded the Master of Surgery degree. He then trained on the Cambridge higher surgical rotation, based at Huntingdon, Peterborough, Norwich and Cambridge, taking time to undertake research on arterial biomechanics in London. He had specialist endovascular training in Perth, Australia before returning to the NHS. Mr. Chaudhuri has an interest in all aspects of vascular surgery, particularly arterial disease. He has developed and pioneered techniques for endovascular arterial aneurysm repair. He initiated many service developments in this aspect and received several Clinical Excellence Awards. He also maintains an interest in minor/ intermediate general surgery, such as hernias (for which he offers ‘mini-open’ repairs) and ‘lumps and bumps’. He also offers a range of treatment options for varicose veins and venous ulcers. He is also Associate Editor for the European Journal of Vascular & Endovascular Surgery, and is an expert reviewer for other academic journals. He has over 200 peer-reviewed publications in international scientific journals. He is a keen squash player, cricket follower, and listens to modern jazz.
