Mr Chin is a fulltime ENT Consultant Surgeon based in NHS Lanarkshire. He studied medicine and graduated with Honours from the National University of Ireland, Cork, in 1999. He has lived in Glasgow for over 20 years and undertook his ENT training on the West of Scotland rotation. He was appointed as a Consultant ENT surgeon in 2013. Mr Chin is a honorary clinical senior lecturer with Glasgow University and is a surgical educator for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He is also an advisor for the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges and Faculties in Scotland. He is a member of the West of Scotland ENT specialist training committee. He is currently the clinical lead for paediatric ENT and balance services in Lanarkshire. He is also a member of the Scottish Government Access Collaborative and Modernising Patient Pathways Project. Mr Chin has interests in hearing loss, ear operations (open, endoscopic and laser techniques), balance disorders, tinnitus, nasal obstruction and sinus surgery. For paediatric ENT surgery, Mr Chin offers treatments for hearing loss, snoring, nasal obstruction, sleep disordered breathing, recurrent tonsillitis, ear infections and prominent ears (pinnaplasty). He is also happy to see children with balance issues and tinnitus. He is heavily involved in NHS service improvement projects and has set up new balance, tinnitus and innovative hearing loss services in Lanarkshire. He also teaches ear surgery at Glasgow University and is faculty for multiple Royal College ENT courses in Glasgow. He teaches audiology students and participates in the general practice education seminars.
