GMC reg: 4154941Professor Alister Hart is the UCL chair of orthopaedics and a consultant orthopaedic hip surgeon. He leads a research team of surgical technologists, based at the UCL Stanmore Campus & RNOH NHS Trust, focussed on Implant Science and Surgical Imaging Technology. The unit includes the London Implant Retrieval Centre (LIRC), the RNOH/UCLH BRC collaboration and the Running for Science (RFS) project. He was appointed in 2012 to the Action Medical Research Chair of Orthopaedics at UCL and honorary consultant orthopaedic surgeon at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH). He is director of implant science at the RNOH (largest orthopaedic hospital in the UK), and member of The EFORT (European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology) committee of Implant and Patient Safety Initiative. He leads the RNOH collaboration with UCLH for NIHR BRC with the theme of quantitative musculoskeletal imaging.
