GMC reg: 6088555Mr Arshad is an experienced Consultant Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic and General Surgeon based at Southampton General Hospital with a private practice at Spire Southampton Hospital. He complete his medical degree with honours from the University of Cambridge, prior to pursuing surgical training in the East Midlands, culminating with an advanced fellowship at the Birmingham Liver and Pancreatic Unit. He completed a full time period of research with award of MD (res) in novel therapies for advanced pancreatic cancer and has published widely on this topic. Mr Arshad has extensive expertise in the surgical treatment of both benign and malignant liver, pancreas, gallbladder and bile duct disease as well as abdominal wall and groin hernias, minor skin lumps. He has wide experience in keyhole (laparoscopic) surgery for gallbladder removal and established the robotic major liver and pancreatic surgery programme in Southampton, which has rapidly grown to become one of the largest in the UK. He manages patients with acute and chronic pancreatitis across the South Central coast of England.
