Mr Alex Reid is a highly experienced consultant plastic and hand surgeon based in Cambridge, specialising in hand surgery, nerve injuries of the upper limb and skin surgery. He provides expert care for adults, helping patients restore hand function, mobility and confidence after injuries, degenerative conditions, or skin concerns, drawing on his precision and dexterity to achieve the best outcomes in complex cases. Across his practice, he manages approximately 1,600 clinic appointments each year and performs or supervises over 600 surgical procedures annually. He is a carpal tunnel specialist in Cambridge, performing over 140 carpal tunnel releases each year, almost all using the WALANT (wide-awake local anaesthetic no tourniquet) technique. He also carries out around 44 Dupuytren’s contracture surgeries annually, with about 90% of private sector cases performed under the WALANT technique.
