Consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon Mr Ahsan Sheeraz MBBS, MRCS, PGDip, FRCS is known not only for his expertise and experience, but also for his professionalism and dedication. Specialising in knee and hip surgery for both adults and children, his understanding approach, meticulous attention to detail, all combine to bring about the best possible outcome for every patient he treats. Qualifying in 2003 from the highly regarded National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) Islamabad, Pakistan, where he was awarded gold and silver medals, he completed his foundation training at UK centres of excellence in London, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and Exeter. Following his higher specialist orthopaedic training on the renowned North West Thames Orthopaedic Rotation, he studied for his hip and knee arthroplasty fellowship at the globally famous Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, Royal Berkshire NHS Trust, and West Hertfordshire NHS Trust. At every stage of his training, he has benefitted from learning from some of the UK’s leading orthopaedic surgeons. He worked out of Whipps Cross University Hospital as a locum consultant for Barts Health NHS Trust for just over a year-and-a-half before joining Milton Keynes Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as a consultant in 2019, where he is currently audit lead. As well as contributing two chapters to the textbook ABC of Orthopaedics, he has written many hip, knee, and trauma articles for professional journals. Holding a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Education from University of Bedfordshire, he finds teaching both undergraduates and postgraduates rewarding, and has taught at King’s, Peninsula and Birmingham medical schools as well as delivering courses nationwide. He is an Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) instructor, and has been nominated to become an AO Foundation instructor. A sought-after speaker both at domestic and international events, he has won several awards throughout his career. When not working, he excels at table tennis, badminton, basketball, cricket and enjoys travelling and cycling.
