GMC reg: 5198766I completed my medical training in BJ Medical College and David Sassoon Hospital, Pune, India followed by three year general surgical residency training in SMS College rand Hospital, Jaipur, India. I moved to Yorkshire in 2001 and completed basic surgical training (2001-2003) and basic sciences and clinical research culminating in an MD (2005) . I started specialist registrar training in the Yorkshire Deanery in 2005. I trained in Leeds, Hull and Sheffield among other hospitals in Yorkshire. I did a pelvic floor and proctology fellowship in Mannheim, Germany with Professor Alex Herold. After obtaining CCT and completing specialist registrar training in June 2011, I went to Rochester, NY, USA for a colorectal fellowship to further his experience in advanced colorectal surgery and laparoscopic surgery. I started working in Wythenshawe Hospital in July 2012. My interests include pelvic floor surgery (including management of faecal incontinence and constipation), laparoscopic and minimally invasive colorectal surgery including robotic surgery for cancer and inflammatory bowel disease, advanced endoscopy and transanal microsurgical techniques for early rectal cancer. I have also also been extensively involved in research during my career and has over 50 peer reviewed journal publications.
