Mr Mr Ricky Pal

Mr Ricky Pal is a fellowship trained Consultant ENT Surgeon, with an NHS practice at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford and Wycombe General Hospital. He consults private patients at The Beaconsfield Clinic and The Manor Hospital, Nuffield Health Oxford. Mr Pal qualified from the University of Cambridge with a double first class degree in 2003 receiving awards of The Moses Hollaway Scholarship and John Addenbrooke's Award. This was followed by higher surgical training in London, Manchester and Oxford, training at esteemed units including the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital, The Royal London and St Bartholomews Hospital, Royal Manchester Childrens Hospital and Manchester Royal Infirmary and The John Radcliffe Hospital. He was awarded the Royal Society of Medicine Gold Medal in 2012 for ranking first in GB and Ireland in the national intercollegiate FRCS ORL-HNS examination. Following this he undertook scientific research leading to award of Doctor of Medicine M.D at the University of Manchester and has published and presented numerous journal articles, winning a number of awards, and writing invited book chapters. Following completion of his training in the UK, and having been awarded the Colledge Memorial Fellowship Award by The Royal College of Surgeons of England, Mr Pal spent a year working abroad in Vancouver, Canada in 2016-17 developing his subspecialist interest in paediatric ENT and otology, prior to returning to Oxford to take up a substantive ENT consultant post in 2017. Currently, he lectures at the medical school at The University of Oxford and is regional ENT lead for the Spires Cleft Centre, managing complex ENT problems in children. Mr Pal manages the full range of general adult and paediatric ENT pathology in his NHS practice with a subspecialist interest in otology and paediatrics.

Mr Pal manages the full range of general adult and paediatric ENT pathology in his practice, including hearing loss, ear discharge and infections, nasal blockage and sinusitis, tonsillitis and obstructive sleep apnoea and throat discomfort and hoarseness. He has a subspecialist interest and fellowship training in otology and paediatrics. This includes minimally invasive endoscopic ear surgery and all aspects of paediatric ENT disease from birth including airway disease, congenital neck lumps and more common conditions such as obstructive sleep apnoea and glue ear.
