GMC reg: 6143455Mr Hamad is a full-time Fellowship trained consultant orthopaedic spinal surgeon. He has an interest in all aspects of spinal surgery in all groups. These include degenerative spinal conditions of the whole spine, spinal emergencies (including trauma) and spinal deformity (scoliosis). He completed his undergraduate training in 2006 at the University of Aberdeen with commendation. In 2010, he commenced postgraduate training at the renowned Stoke/ Oswestry orthopaedic rotation where he sub-specialised in spinal surgery. In 2016, he was awarded the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh Fellowship in Trauma and Orthopaedics (FRCS orth) and a year later, the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT). During his training he experienced working in two specialist spine centres where he was extensively exposed to major spine trauma and complex spinal surgery. Later, he attended a spinal fellowship in Manchester Children's Hospital and Salford Royal Infirmary before visiting surgeons in France and Ireland. He is a consultant at University Hospital North Midlands, one of the busiest major trauma centres in the UK. At UHNM he works closely with a highly skilled team of allied health professionals and spinal surgeons. This team approach and weekly multi- Disciplinary meetings ensure he provides current best practice care.
