GMC reg: 7021274Mr Mumith is a dual fellowship trained specialist orthopaedic surgeon in all aspects of knee surgery. He aims to save the patient’s natural joint and offers a range of leading-edge surgical procedures to achieve this. This includes surgery for damaged knee cartilage, meniscus and ligaments, as well as issues with kneecap instability. When treating complex lower limb issues or young adults with arthritis, realignment (osteotomy) surgery is routinely offered to correct deformities or postpone the need for joint replacement. For patients with established arthritis, Mr Mumith is an expert in the full complement of joint replacement surgery. His NHS practice is based in a European centre of excellence for knee and osteotomy surgery. Aadil Mumith graduated from University College London Medical School in 2008. He undertook his postgraduate training in the UK and Canada. During his orthopaedic training he gained a highly coveted Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCSEng) Research Fellowship and was awarded competitive grants from the Enid Linder & Arthritis Trust, Orthopaedic Research UK and Skeletal Cancer Action Trust for his work. He was awarded a Biomedical Engineering PhD for his research based at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore. After completing his training in the UK and gaining his FRCS(Tr&Orth) from the RCSEng, Mr Mumith was named as a Lower Extremity Reconstruction Fellow under the Schatzker Joint Preservation Initiative at the University of Toronto and gained many notable awards. He went on to complete a second fellowship in arthroscopic (key-hole) and reconstructive surgery at the renowned Royal Orthopaedic Hospital. As a result of being trained by world-class experts, Mr Mumith is able to provide a highly specialist service. Mr Mumith began his consultant career in the Arthroscopy & Large Joint Reconstruction Division at the prestigious Royal Orthopaedic Hospital. He is now based in Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (Basingstoke & Winchester) and is one of a select group of surgeons who work in the renowned Knee Unit where he spent time as a senior trainee. Alongside his clinical work, he continues research in his area of expertise, is an editor of several texts and convenor/faculty on numerous courses. As a result of his commitment to academia, he has been appointed as an Honorary Assistant Professor at the University of Central Florida where he leads teams in clinical and basic science research. Mr Mumith is also an expert in specialist implant technology and consults for the med-tech sector.
