Dr Moulinath Banerjee

I qualified in 1992 and completed my MD degree in 1996 in India. In the UK, I did my basic medical training in the North-West of England and higher training in Diabetes and Endocrinology in Wales and the North-West of England. During my higher training, I completed my PhD at Manchester University following receipt of a prestigious grant from the British Heart Foundation. After finishing my training in 2009, I took up consultant posts in Diabetes and Endocrinology at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Foundation Trust, Wirral University Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust, The Bolton Foundation NHS Trust, and, in 2024, Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Teaching Hospitals. I hold the post of Senior Lecturer at Edge Hill University Medical School and am also an Honorary Lecturer with Manchester University. I have taught and organised courses in Diabetes and Endocrinology since 2009. I have led quality improvement projects and published peer-reviewed articles in various journals of Diabetes and Endocrinology. I have given lectures internationally in places including India, Egypt and Bahrain. I am an Associate Editor of the British Journal of Diabetes and Clinical Champion of Diabetes UK. I am interested in teaching and currently work as the Assessment Lead at Edge Hill University Medical School. I have been in private practice since 2018 and am on the panel of all major insurers, fee–assured and available for telephone consultations. My hobbies include reading, cricket, traveling and landscape photography.
