Professor Mohid Khan is a senior Consultant Gastroenterologist at the University Hospital of Wales and an Honorary Professor at Cardiff University. He has more than 20 years’ medical experience and has worked as a consultant since 2013. He undertook his specialist gastroenterology training at leading London teaching hospitals, including the Royal Free Hospital and University College London Hospitals, before completing an advanced fellowship at the Royal Marsden Hospital. Professor Khan has broad expertise in gastroenterology and gastrointestinal endoscopy. He assesses both common and complex digestive problems, including abdominal pain, indigestion and reflux, persistent diarrhoea, changes in bowel habit and concerns about gastrointestinal cancer. He has particular expertise in gastrointestinal cancers and neuroendocrine tumours and leads the South Wales Neuroendocrine Tumour Service, as well as chairing its specialist multidisciplinary team. Alongside his clinical practice, Professor Khan is actively involved in research, medical education and improving healthcare services. His work has received national and international recognition, and he has contributed to clinical guidelines, research publications and the development of innovative approaches to patient care. Professor Khan believes that patients should be listened to carefully and involved fully in decisions about their care. He provides a thorough, individualised assessment, explains findings in clear language and develops a practical investigation and treatment plan tailored to each patient.
