Mr Mohamed Mussa, Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon Primary and Revision Hip and Knee Arthroplasty Surgeon Mr Mohamed Mussa is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip and knee surgery. He completed his higher surgical training in the West Midlands and undertook a specialist fellowship in Lower Limb Arthroplasty and Complex Revision Surgery at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire from 2022 to 2023. Mr Mussa’s expertise lies in managing a wide range of hip and knee conditions, from early arthritis through to complex and revision cases. Since September 2023, he has worked as a Consultant at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, where he also serves as Trauma Lead, Surgical Site Infection & Prevention Lead, and Mortality Lead. These roles reflect his strong focus on patient safety and excellent clinical outcomes. He is a Certified Robotic Surgeon and has performed over 100 MAKO robotic-assisted procedures. He uses this advanced technology to achieve greater precision in primary total hip replacement, total knee replacement, partial (unicompartmental) knee replacement, and complex cases. Mr Mussa is regularly invited as a speaker at international conferences on robotic-assisted joint replacement. He also plays an active teaching role, regularly educating General Practitioners (GPs) and Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) on the latest advances in hip and knee surgery, patient optimisation, and joint injection techniques. Mr Mussa has a particular interest in day-case joint replacement surgery. Many of his patients are safely discharged home on the same day after hip or knee replacement, allowing faster recovery in the comfort of their own home while maintaining high satisfaction and excellent results. In addition to joint replacement surgery, Mr Mussa offers a full spectrum of knee care, including keyhole (arthroscopic) procedures such as meniscectomy and chondroplasty for earlier-stage knee problems, as well as hip and knee joint injections for patients who wish to explore non-surgical options first. He is experienced in managing periprosthetic joint infections with both single- and two-stage revision techniques. Mr Mussa is committed to delivering clear, patient-centred care. He takes time to listen to his patients and works closely with them to develop the most appropriate treatment plan tailored to their individual needs and lifestyle goals.
