Chris McDonald is a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon based in Aberdeen, specialising in both advanced facial aesthetic and general oral and maxillofacial surgery. With over 20 years of experience in surgical care of the face, mouth, and neck, he combines technical expertise with a refined aesthetic approach to deliver natural, balanced results. Chris originally trained in both dentistry and medicine before completing higher surgical training the Liverpool Head and Neck Centre. This dual qualification provides him with a uniquely comprehensive understanding of facial anatomy, function, and harmony—an essential foundation for achieving optimal aesthetic outcomes. Alongside his NHS role at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where he manages complex facial conditions and performs intricate reconstructive procedures following trauma and cancer, Chris also provides a full range of general oral and maxillofacial procedures. These include treatments relating to the teeth, jaws, oral surgery, and facial conditions, delivered with the same precision and high standard of care. Chris has developed a thriving private aesthetic practice with a particular focus on facial rejuvenation procedures, including facelifts and blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery). His approach is centred on subtle enhancement—refreshing and restoring a more youthful appearance while preserving each patient’s natural identity. He also offers a range of advanced treatments, including minimally invasive neck lift techniques, laser-assisted liposuction, and skin resurfacing, tailored to individual patient goals. One of the few surgeons in Scotland with experience in facial skeletal surgery, Chris also specialises in chin and jawline reshaping procedures, including implants, allowing for comprehensive facial profile enhancement. Known for his calm, honest, and patient-focused approach, Chris is committed to guiding patients through every stage of their journey—from initial consultation to recovery—with clarity and care. Every treatment plan is bespoke, ensuring results that are both aesthetically pleasing and long-lasting. Chris is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and holds memberships with leading professional organisations, including the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the British Association of Head and Neck Oncologists, and the European Association of Craniomaxillofacial Surgeons. He is actively involved in teaching and regularly lectures at local, national, and international level.
