Mr Cartwright-Terry studied in St Andrews and Manchester Universities. His higher surgical training was in the Merseyside deanery. He has completed fellowships specialising in knee and sports surgery in Perth, Western Australia and in Aintree University Hospital. He is widely published in knee surgery and is a reviewer for several specialist Orthopaedic journals. In 2014 he started as a specialist Orthopaedic Consultant. His NHS practice is in St Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust. He is an active member of the British Association for Surgery of the Knee and the British Orthopaedic Association. He is chairman of the regional sports knee association.
