Mr Mark Wevill

Mark Wevill has been changing lives with cataract, LASIK, LASEK and other refractive surgery treatments since 1992. It all started when he saw the smiles on patient’s faces the day after their cataract surgery in a remote hospital in Southern Africa. Since then he has become a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, has achieved further qualifications from the University of Ulster and the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and has done over 20 000 vision correction surgeries. He has been invited to speak at over 20 surgeon conferences, has written textbook chapters and regularly works in eye hospitals in Africa.

Mr. Wevill has a special interest in advanced cataract surgery to improve the vision of his patients such that they need glasses as little as possible or not at all afterwards. This is called refractive surgery. He has been awarded additional qualifications in refractive surgery including from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, and has done over 20,000 vision correction refractive surgery procedures. These refractive surgery procedures include advanced cataract surgery with multifocal and toric lens implants, refractive lens exchange procedures, LASIK, LASEK, ICL phakic lens implants and corneal cross linking, which have helped his patients see well without glasses.
