Mr Falworth's practice is solely limited to the management of shoulder and elbow conditions. His expertise was recognised by his appointment as a Consultant Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon at the prestigious Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH, Stanmore) in 2006. He brings this experience to his private practice, which is based on the multidisciplinary approach to the surgical and non-surgical treatments of conditions affecting the shoulder and elbow. Patients need, and the use of physiotherapy and interventional radiology techniques, are always considered before surgical solutions are discussed and utilised. All treatments are evidence based and reflect the exacting standards that Mr Falworth adheres to. Mr Falworth qualified in medicine from Kings College Hospital, London in 1996. His higher specialist orthopaedic training was undertaken on the St Marys Hospital rotation where he gained extensive experience in shoulder and elbow surgery, working with some of the UK's leading shoulder surgeons. He then undertook more specialist training at the internationally acclaimed Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore before he undertook just under two years of further specialist Fellowship training in shoulder and elbow surgery: Shoulder & Elbow Fellow; Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore; Mr I. Romeo (Chicago) Mr Falworth provides a comprehensive service covering all aspects of open and arthroscopic shoulder and elbow surgery, including providing a significant revision service to other orthopaedic surgeons throughout the UK. He is widely published in the orthopaedic literature as well as being the author of several textbook chapters related to shoulder and elbow surgery. He has pioneered techniques in many aspects of shoulder and elbow surgery, including computer aided surgery, and is a regular invited speaker at both national and international scientific meetings and instructional courses. He was Clinical Lead to the Shoulder & Elbow Unit at the RNOH from 2012 - '17. Mr Falworth is currently the President Elect of the British Elbow and Shoulder Society (BESS). He previously held the position of Honorary Treasure (2017-'22), and Chair of the BESS Instructional Course Committee (2022 - '25), where he was responsible for coordinating the educational content for the annual Instructional Course for shoulder and elbow surgeons in the UK. As well as his clinical publications, he is also the joint author of four BESS UK Treatment Guidelines regarding Shoulder Pain, Shoulder Instability, Elbow Arthroplasty and Peri-prosthetic Joint Infection. In 2018 he was awarded the prestigious BESS Copeland Fellowship, enabling him to help project the work of BESS internationally.
