Mr Kostalas is an experienced Consultant Upper GI Surgeon working at Mount Stuart Hospital. He completed his medical degree at the University of Bristol in 2008. Mr Kostalas later completed his MD in Clinical and Experimental Medicine at the University of Surrey in 2017 and became a Fellow in General Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2021. Mr Kostalas has trained in hepatobiliary, bariatric and benign UGI surgery. He has also undertaken a Royal College of Surgeon's England Fellowship honing his advanced laparoscopic skills. He has specialist expertise in a wide range of areas, including: laparoscopic surgery, hernia surgery, gallstone disease, reflux, and abdominal wall reconstruction. He is dedicated to providing exceptional care to his patients, utilising a compassionate approach to ensure optimal outcomes. Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Kostalas holds professional memberships with the Association of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeons (AUGIS) and the British Benign Upper Gastrointestinal Society (BBUGSS), for which he previously sat on council.
