Mr Manoj Kumar is a Consultant General Surgeon. His areas of specialism are General Surgery and Upper GI surgery. His areas of interest include Laparoscopic Surgery, Gastro-Oesophageal Reflux Disease (GORD) Surgery, Gallbladder surgery (laparoscopic cholecystectomy) and Hernia management (including abdominal wall, groin and incisional hernia surgery). Mr Kumar qualified in medicine in 2000 with Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree. He completed a Masters degree in Patient Safety: A Human Factors Approach from the University of Aberdeen and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. He is also the Associate Director of Medical Education (Surgery) at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and holds an Honorary Senior Lecturer post at the University of Aberdeen as well as an Honorary Clinical Tutor post at the University of Edinburgh. Mr Kumar is a Scottish Quality and Safety Fellow. In addition, Mr Kumar is a committee of the Law Society of Scotland’s Health and Medical Law Subcommittee as well as an ambassador for the Clinical Human Factors Group.
