Mr Mahi Muqit PhD FRCOphth is a Consultant Vitreoretinal Surgeon at Moorfields Eye Hospital, and an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the Institute of Ophthalmology at UCL, London. He has subspecialist expertise in complex cataract surgery, diabetic retinopathy, retinal lasers, medical and surgical retina. His research areas include international diabetic retinopathy screening, vitreoretinal surgery, artificial retinal prosthesis, and retinal laser. He leads complex clinical trials at Moorfields and UCL. He has received research grants from the NIHR and MRC. He works as a voluntary Consultant for Helen Keller International (HKI), and is currently involved with several innovative research diabetic retinopathy screening projects based in Southeast Asia.
