Dr Mahesh Bhalme

I graduated in medicine from Mumbai University in year 2001 and completed higher specialist gastroenterology training in North West England and advanced liver fellowship at St James University Hospital, Leeds. I have worked as a locum consultant at the liver transplant unit in Leeds for a year before taking up my current NHS post at the Royal Bolton Hospital as a Consultant Hepatologist and Gastroenterologist with interest in endoscopy in 2013. I am an expert at performing diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy (OGD), colonoscopy including bowel cancer screening and endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatogram (ERCP). My research interest is in liver disease and I am a principle investigator for a number of clinical trials.
