Mr Luke Hughes is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in foot and ankle surgery. As a fellowship-trained surgeon and member of the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society he is committed to delivering high standards of specialist care. He provides a comprehensive range of both surgical and non-surgical treatments for patients of all ages and activity levels, managing everything from routine problems to complex conditions. His expertise includes sports injuries, fractures, ankle instability, tendon disorders, arthritis of the foot and ankle, and deformities such as bunions (hallux valgus), flat feet (pes planus), high arches (cavus feet), and lesser toe conditions. He also has significant experience in treating diabetic foot complications, including Charcot neuroarthropathy and ulceration. Mr Hughes has a broad and advanced surgical skill set, including arthroscopy, tendon and ligament reconstruction, joint replacement, fusion procedures, and minimally invasive osteotomies. His practice is firmly grounded in evidence-based medicine, with a clear focus on supporting recovery and achieving reliable, long-term outcomes. He believes in tailoring treatment plans to each individual, ensuring patients feel informed, supported, and confident in their care. He works closely with physiotherapists, orthotists, and other allied healthcare professionals to provide coordinated, holistic care designed around each patient’s needs and goals. Mr Hughes completed his orthopaedic training in the North West of England, undertaking advanced foot and ankle placements at centres accredited by the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, including Manchester Royal Infirmary Wrightington Hospital, and Wythenshawe Hospital He subsequently completed a specialist fellowship at Southmead Hospital, where he further developed his expertise in complex trauma, deformity correction, and ankle replacement surgery. Outside of clinical practice, Mr Hughes is a husband and father of two. He enjoys kitesurfing, climbing, cycling, and woodworking, and brings a practical, hands-on approach to both his professional and personal life
