Dr Lilianne Gomez-Lopez

Dr Lilianne Gomez-Lopez is a Consultant Paediatric Gastroenterologist and Nutrition specialist at Leeds General Infirmary, UK, with extensive experience in tertiary paediatric centres in the UK, Spain, France, and Canada. She holds a PhD in Medicine and a Master’s degree in Bioethics and Law, and is on the GMC Specialist Register with a full licence to practise. Her clinical expertise includes paediatric gastroenterology, complex nutritional disorders, intestinal failure, and the management of children requiring home enteral and parenteral nutrition. She has particular experience in multidisciplinary care, supporting children with chronic and complex conditions, and working closely with dietitians, specialist nurses, psychologists, and surgeons. Dr Gomez-Lopez has led multiple quality improvement and service development initiatives, including outpatient pathway redesign, referral optimisation, and implementation of safer and more efficient clinical systems. Her work has contributed to reduced waiting times and improved patient flow and safety. She has an active academic profile with peer-reviewed publications, international presentations, and involvement in research collaborations. She has also contributed to the development of clinical guidelines, protocols, and educational materials for both professionals and families. In addition to her clinical work, she is actively involved in teaching, supervision, and clinical governance, and is a member of several professional organisations including BSPGHAN, ESPGHAN and BAPEN.
