Dr Leena Karnik

Dr Leena Karnik has extensive experience in paediatric haematology. She completed her medical studies and paediatric training in India and completed a paediatric haematology training programme at Birmingham Children's hospital in 2008. She has subsequently worked as Consultant paediatric haematologist at St Mary's hospital, Imperial College NHS Healthcare trust since 2009. She has dual qualifications as she is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists and a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, London.

Dr Leena Karnik has a large portfolio of clinical interests, including conditions affecting red and white blood cells such as anaemia and neutropenia, haemoglobin disorders such as sickle cell disease, thalassemia, hereditary spherocytosis, G6PD deficiency, bone marrow failure and cellular therapies such as stem cell (blood and bone marrow) transplantation and gene editing therapies.
