Dr Laurence Nunn

Dr Laurence Nunn is a Consultant Cardiologist at Maidstone Hospital and Honorary Consultant at St Thomas’ Hospital, specialising in the treatment of heart rhythm disorders, with a particular interest in inherited cardiac conditions. He graduated from Cambridge University in 1995 and the Royal London & St Bartholomew’s Medical School in 1999. Trained in Cardiology at the Heart Hospital UCLH, sub-specialising in electrophysiology and principal research interest the investigation of Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS) and inherited arrhythmia syndromes, particularly Brugada syndrome and early repolarisation disorders. Following appointment at Maidstone Hospital in 2012 has been responsible for setting up the electrophysiology lab and service, which now provides comprehensive investigation and treatment of simple arrhythmias in Kent.  He regularly contributes to the device service at Maidstone Hospital and performs ablation of more complex arrhythmias at St Thomas’ Hospital. Dr Nunn undertakes an inherited cardiac conditions clinic at St Thomas’ hospital with a particular focus on ion channelopathies and investigation of idiopathic VF and family screening of SADS cases and contributes to the St Thomas’ inherited cardiac conditions multi-disciplinary team meeting. Dr Nunn has an additional interest in medical education and completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Care Education from St George’s Hospital Medical School, University of London, is a Resuscitation Council (UK) Instructor and has contributed to the European Examination in General Cardiology (EEGC).
