Ms Laura De Benito Llopis

Ms Laura de Benito-Llopis is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon specialising in laser eye surgery, lens based vision correction surgery and cataract and corneal transplant surgery (such as DMEK). Ms de Benito-Llopis completed her ophthalmology residency in Madrid, Spain and was fellowship trained in cornea, lens and laser eye surgery in Madrid and at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. She was appointed substantive consultant in the Cornea, External Disease department and Refractive service at Moorfields Eye Hospital in October 2016.

Ms de Benito-Llopis has produced over 35 scientific papers and 12 book chapters. She was awarded a PhD for her thesis on corneal wound healing after laser eye surgery. She is often invited to speak at international meetings. She is actively involved in teaching several national and international surgical courses.
