Professor Krishna Narahari

I am a Consultant Urological Surgeon at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff. and Professor of Urology at Cardiff University. As well as practising most aspects of general urology (kidney stones, genito-scortal conditions), my subspecialist interests are cancers of the prostate, bladder, kidney and testis. I completed my medical, surgical and higher urological training in the North East of England and further sub-specialist training in robotic surgery and pelvic oncology at the Jules Bordet Institute, Brussels and University Hospital of Leuven, Belgium. During this time I received a number of British and European awards including The Keith Yates Gold Medal Award for first place in the UK FRCS Urology examination.  Over the last decade I have led significant developments in cancer services in South Wales including introduction ad development of robotic surgery for urological cancers. I have served as Chair of BAUS Oncology, NICE Prostate Cancer Panel, National Prostate Cancer Audit committee, Faculty member for Healthcare Research Wales and NIHR research committees.     My NHS practice is based at the University Hospital of Wales where I lead prostate and kidney cancer care as well  Research & Development with in the department.
