Mr Konstantinos Kaprinis

I am highly skilled Ophthalmic Surgeon with extensive clinical experience across the range of Ophthalmology.  I graduated Medical School from the University of Athens in 2007 and subsequently received comprehensive training in Ophthalmology. My subspecialty training includes three very prestigious fellowships in Vitreoretinal Surgery, in Royal Liverpool Hospital, Cheltenham General Hospital and Whipps Cross Hospital in London, as well as dedicated fellowships in Cataract Surgery and Medical Retina in Lincoln General and Southampton University Hospitals.  In 2024, I was appointed as Consultant Ophthalmic and Vitreoretinal Surgeon in Northern Care Alliance NHS Trust. I am currently practicing in Greater Manchester, Leeds and Yorkshire. 

I am proficient in cataract surgery including high-complexity cataract cases, and very experienced in the use of premium intraocular implants including multifocal, toric and extended depth-of-focus lenses.  Moreover, I have excelled in the field of small gauge vitreoretinal surgery, and I have vast experience in a wide range of retinal conditions requiring surgical management. These include floaterectomy; retinal detachments; macular surgery, macular holes and epiretinal membranes; highly complex diabetic retinopathy; secondary intraocular lenses, scleral fixation lenses and more.  I also have extensive knowledge in the management of retinal conditions requiring medical treatment such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and other vascular problems of the retina and I am very experienced in ophthalmic lasers.
