Dr Konrad Koss

I qualified from the Medical University of Gdansk in 1991. In 1995, I obtained a PhD in inflammatory bowel disease and subsequently undertook research in this field at Hammersmith Hospital in London. I then carried out post-doctoral research at the University of Oxford and the John Radcliffe Hospital between 1996 and 1998. Following a successful period in research, I completed extensive training in General Medicine and joined the Specialist Registrar Training Programme in Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine in Nottingham and the West Midlands (2001–2006). I was appointed as a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Macclesfield District General Hospital in 2006. I also conduct advanced endoscopy sessions at Salford Royal Hospital. My clinical practice involves the assessment and management of patients with a wide range of gastroenterological and liver disorders. I provide a comprehensive endoscopy service, including diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), and capsule endoscopy. I am an accredited colonoscopist for the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme, which requires the highest standards of quality and safety. In addition, I hold the position of Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester.
