Dr Klaartje Bel Kok

Dr Bel Kok qualified from the Academic Medical Centre in Amsterdam and trained in Gastroenterology in London. She now works as Clinical Lead for Gastroenterology at Barts Health, Royal London Hospital and has been part of the consultant Gastroenterology team at the Cleveland Clinic London since it opened. She has a specialist interest in inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), including in young adults, and in nutrition/intestinal failure. Dr Kok is also an experienced endoscopist. Dr Kok was awarded a PhD in 2009, having studied cell signalling in IBD. She is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London and actively involved in IBD clinical and translational research. She has published in multiple peer-reviewed journals. She is involved in teaching and training and serves on the United European Gastroenterology Education Committee.
