Dr Keval Naik

Dr Keval Naik is an NHS consultant in Hepatology and Gastroenterology with an NHS practice in Broomfield Hospital since 2020. He graduated from University College London in 2008 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and intercalated Bachelor of Science. He gained membership to the Royal College of Physicians in 2012. He has worked at the Liver Transplant Unit at Addenbrookes and as clinical fellow at the Royal Free Hospital Neuroendocrine unit. He has extensive links with their specialist units and their multidisciplinary meetings. He is a member of the European Association of Study of the Liver and the British Society of Gastroenterology.

I am an NHS Consultant in Hepatology and Gastroenterology specialising in investigating and treating patients with primary liver disease. I deal with a range of liver conditions including abnormal liver tests, autoimmune liver disease, alcohol related liver disease, non-alcohol fatty liver disease and decompensated cirrhosis. As I have worked at the Liver Transplant Unit at Addenbrookes, I have extensive links with their liver specialist unit and their multidisciplinary meetings. My area of interest is alcohol related liver disease and work closely in health promotion with alcohol recovery services in the Chelmsford area. Other than liver disease, I investigate and manage general gastroenterology conditions. To aid this, I am fully certified in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy with over 1600 lifetime colonoscopies and over 3000 gastroscopies procedures. I also investigate patients with possible pancreatic or hepatobiliary cancers and am the hepatobiliary cancer lead at Broomfield hospital (Mid and South Essex Foundation Trust).  Beyond clinical work, I am active in clinical research, and I have 18 publications and 223 citations in the field of hepatology and gastroenterology
