Dr Kesavan Kandiah is a highly experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist who specialises in endoscopy. He sees private patients at the Parkside Hospital and is also a Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist at St George's University Hospital NHS Trust, where he leads the Complex Polyp Multi-Disciplinary Team and performs advanced endoscopic resections of complex colonic polyps. Dr Kandiah completed his medical training at the University of Manchester in 2006 before undertaking specialist training in gastroenterology in the North West London Deanery. In 2017, he completed an Advanced Endoscopy Research Fellowship at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth, where he conducted research on advanced endoscopic detection and resection techniques. His research has been presented at national and international conferences and he has published extensively on advanced endoscopy. Dr Kandiah's main interests include advanced therapeutic endoscopy, such as the resection of large/complex colonic polyps, and endoscopy training. He is the current Training Lead for Endoscopy in St George's, which is recognized as a National Endoscopy Training Centre. He is also a National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme accredited endoscopist. In recognition of his work on advanced resection of colonic polyps, he was awarded the Marsha Dreyer Award by the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy in 2016.
