Dr Kaushik Guha

Dr Kaushik Guha is a consultant cardiologist with expertise within heart failure and complex devices. He was appointed as a consultant in 2016 at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. He is now the clinical lead for the heart failure programme, which represents one of the largest services within the UK. He continues to practise within a busy cardiology service with full participation within all aspects of acute cardiology. He has provided tertiary heart failure services to the Isle of Wight since 2017 and continues alongside colleagues to deliver a monthly specialist heart failure clinic at this location. Additional he continues to implant over a 100 pacemakers/complex devices per annum and has created and implemented a large heart failure ambulatory service. He continues to work with the Hampshire and IOW ICB with regards to regional heart failure services and has recently commenced work with NHS England with regards to heart failure referral pathways.  Having graduated from St. George's Hospital Medical School with honours in medicine and surgery in 2004, Dr Guha completed his specialist registrar training at St. George's Hospital and the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton with his fellowship at the Royal Brompton Hospital and Harefield Hospital. He was awarded his MD in Cardiac Resynchronisation Therapy and its effects on Heart Failure by Imperial College in 2014. Dr Guha has published over 80 peer reviewed citations and continues to publish and lead as a local primary investigator. He has developed sub specialty interests within cardiac sarcoidosis and cardiac amyloidosis and remote technologies in heart failure. 

I have specialist interests in all aspects of heart failure, research allied towards heart failure, remote technologies in heart failure and cardiac sarcoidosis and amyloidosis. I continue to implant over a 100 pacemakers and complex cardiac devices per year.
