I have been a consultant in Great Ormond St Hospital since May 1999.   I am an expert in diagnosis of hearing loss and balance problems in children with complex problems.  I currently lead  the cochlear implant department, since my appointment the number of cases seen in department have increased four folds from 20 cochlear implants to 80+ cochlear implants.   GOSH C.I Department  is one of the largest paediatric cochlear implant program in U.K and we have a team of more than 21 people from Multi-disciplinary  background. I am constantly striving to do the best for my l patients. I firmly believe that every child must be given the opportunity to achieve their full potential despite disabilities such as hearing impairment. Many of my patients have  complex hearing and medical problems. Sometimes hearing impairment can be the only aspect which can be optimised and this can change their quality of life significantly for the better.   I have led several groups between 2000 to 2018 looking at setting Aetiological investigations, as well as issuing good practice guidelines for offering cochlear Implant for children with Auditory Neuropathy Spectrum Disorder. I have always been interested in identifying the causes of hearing loss in children to have an idea of natural course of the disease and excluding co-mobidity and make the best choice available to the children and their families. Hearing loss can be optimised to minimise disability, however, where possible preventing the hearing loss is much preferred.  I have been involves as co-investigator in cutting edge research in prevention of hearing loss ie meningococcal meningitis publish in Lancet and led to implementation of meningitis vaccination. Since 2005 I have been part of group led by Dr Peppy Brock investigating role of Sodium Thio Sulphate in prevention of Cisplatin induced  ototoxicity published in New England Journal of Medicine in 2018.  I have led a study looking at results of Deafness gene panel testing in children with bilateral severe SNHL this was published this year Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery American Academy journal. I am rated as top Paediatric Audiovestibular Physicians and recommended by patients and other Audiovestibular physicians. I am on board of top solicitors as Medicolegal expert in Audiovestibular Medicine, and have been appointed as single joint expert. I have been appointed as an advisor to the judge on Family court hearings.
