GMC reg: 7609898Dr Katarzyna Malaczynska-Rajpold earned her medical degree and completed her cardiology training in Poznan, Poland, with an initial focus on pulmonary circulation. Her interests later shifted towards cardiac arrhythmias during her PhD research, which examined three-dimensional reconstructions of post-infarction scar as a substrate for ventricular tachycardia. This research ignited her passion for cardiac electrophysiology, leading her to further specialise in this field at Royal Brompton Hospital in London. She also completed an observational fellowship in Hospital Clinic, Barcelona, Spain. ? Since 2022, Dr Malaczynska-Rajpold has served as a consultant electrophysiologist at Royal Brompton Hospital, London, and since 2023, she has held a joint consultant position at Royal Brompton Hospital and Lister Hospital in Stevenage. Beyond her clinical practice, she is actively involved in the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA), having served as the chair of the Young EP Committee and a member of the EHRA Board in 2020-2024 and currently co-chairing the EHRA National Cardiac Societies Committee.

I am a consultant cardiologist specialising in cardiac electrophysiology and implantable devices. I have extensive experience treating various heart rhythm disorders, including atrial fibrillation (AF), supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), ventricular tachycardia (VT), ventricular ectopics/premature ventricular contractions (VE/PVC), and atrioventricular block, among others. I perform a wide range of procedures to address these conditions, such as catheter ablations and the implantation of devices like pacemakers and defibrillators. My expertise allows me to treat symptoms commonly associated with arrhythmias, including palpitations, breathlessness, dizziness, fainting, and transient loss of consciousness (syncope).
