Dr Karthikeyan Dhandapani

I graduated from Madras Medical College, India, and completed my postgraduate training in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine at Manipal, India. I subsequently undertook advanced training in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine in the United Kingdom, gaining experience in York, Dundee, Bradford, and Leeds. I hold the FRCA, FCARCSI, and FFPMRCA qualifications, all achieved by examination. In addition, I earned a Master’s degree in Pain Medicine from Cardiff University. I have been practising as a Consultant in Pain Medicine for over 12 years, providing specialist care and expertise in the management of complex pain conditions.

I have a particular interest in spinal pain and myofascial pain syndromes. My dissertation focused on intervertebral disc-related spinal pain. In my clinical practice, I manage a wide range of complex pain conditions, including neuropathic pain, complex regional pain syndrome, whiplash-associated disorders, fibromyalgia, headaches, persistent post-surgical pain, and joint pain affecting the hip, knee, and shoulder.
