Dr Jun Cheong | Consultant Cardiologist Dr Jun Cheong is a highly experienced Consultant Cardiologist with over 20 years of experience in the NHS, recognised for his expertise in diagnosing and managing complex heart conditions. Combining senior clinical leadership with internationally recognised expertise in cardiac imaging, he offers patients the reassurance of specialist knowledge, accurate diagnosis and genuinely patient-centred care. He is currently Cardiac Imaging Lead and Clinical Director, reflecting his leadership in advancing cardiovascular services and maintaining the highest standards of clinical care. He also serves as the Secretary of State for Transport’s Honorary Medical Adviser, providing specialist cardiovascular advice at national level. Dr Cheong graduated in Medicine from the University of Edinburgh in 2004. His specialist training included some of the UK's leading cardiac centres, including Addenbrooke's Hospital, Royal Papworth Hospital, Essex Cardiothoracic Centre and the Royal Brompton Hospital, London. He holds Membership and Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP, FRCP), alongside fellowships of the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (FSCMR) and British Cardiovascular Society (FBCS). He has also completed the Management and Leadership Development Programme at Cambridge Judge Business School. His specialist accreditations include cardiac CT, cardiac MRI and echocardiography, reflecting advanced expertise across the three major cardiac imaging techniques. These investigations play a vital role in identifying heart disease, assessing cardiovascular risk and guiding treatment decisions. Dr Cheong practises across leading NHS and private hospitals in London and Kent, including Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital, King's College London, Lyca Health, KIMS Hospital, Darent Valley Hospital and Sevenoaks Medical Centre. Alongside his clinical work, he has contributed to multicentre international clinical trials and published research on coronary artery disease and cardiac imaging, with publications indexed on PubMed.
