GMC reg: 6157500Mr Robins is a skilled and experienced consultant eye surgeon who specialises in the care of patients with blurred vision, cataracts and conditions of the retina and macula, and complications of cataract surgery. He provides specialist retina care as a Vitreoretinal (VR) and cataract surgeon. His VR surgical expertise includes floaters, retinal tears, retinal detachment, vitreous haemorrhage, macula epiretinal membrane, and macula holes. He is also a medical retinal specialist for age related macular degeneration (AMD) and diabetic eye disease (DED), carrying out laser treatments and eye intravitreal injections. Patients with unexplained loss of vision bene?t from consultation, expert assessment and surgery with Mr Robins. He also consults for general ophthalmic conditions and enjoys seeing patients with emergency and urgent eye complaints, including flashes and floaters from posterior vitreous detachment, retinal tears and detachments, acute uveitis, scleritis and red eyes. Before being appointed as a consultant, Mr Robins completed his Ophthalmic specialist training in London with fellowships at St Thomas’ Hospital. Mr Robins is dual trained in both medical and surgical retina and has earned his reputation in establishing the Medical and Vitreoretinal Surgery service in the Bedford, Luton, Milton Keynes area. He is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Milton Keynes University Hospital. Mr Robins has presented his clinical research on macula holes and vitreoretinal surgery after complicated cataract surgery at the National and International level. He completed a postgraduate Master’s degree at the Institute of Ophthalmology, University College London. He is an enthusiastic teacher and member of the Higher Education Academy (HEA). He is an Educational Supervisor at the University of Buckinghamshire Medical School where he teaches undergraduate medical students. He is a Royal College of Ophthalmology (RCOphth) Tutor to Ophthalmic Specialist Registrars. He received the teaching ward for his “Outstanding Contribution to Clinical teaching” from King’s College, London. Mr Robins is passionate about providing patients with information and explanation about their eye conditions and believes his teaching experience, in turn, enables patients to make informed decisions about their care. He is an excellent communicator and eye surgeon.
