About Dr Joseph Tomson MD FRCP CCDS (London) I am an experienced consultant cardiologist practising in Central and North London hospitals. I undertook Cardiovascular research and epidemiology studies at the CTSU, University of Oxford (MD). I am a Consultant Cardiologist at the Royal Free London Hospitals NHS Trust, was the Clinical Lead for Cardiac Rhythm Management (Arrhythmia - 6 years) and currently the CPG lead for Atrial fibrillation for the Royal Free London hospitals group. I hold an Honorary Clinical Associate Clinical Professorship with UCL Medical School, London (2019). I am a certified device specialist (CCDS) with the IBHRE, USA. My specialist interests include cardiac rhythm management, atrial fibrillation, evaluating palpitations, syncope or blackouts, dizziness, managing heart failure, implant and trouble-shooting cardiac device therapy (cardiac resynchronisation therapy CRT, pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators - ICDs), thorough evaluation cardiomyopathies, and causes of shortness of breath, planning and advising on cardiovascular disease prevention by evaluation of hypertension, diabetes, lipid modification and lifestyle. I have expertise in cardiovascular imaging, and in cardiovascular research including epidemiology and of cardiac drug trials. I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians London (FRCP).
