I have been a Consultant in the NHS for 20 years and in both NHS and Private Practice for 3 years . My undergraduate training was at St George's Hospital Medical School , University of London . After qualifying , I spent time in Emergency Medicine and General Practice before completing specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the South West and The Wales Deanery . I have always had an interest in ultrasound and obtained the joint RCR/RCOG Diploma in Obstetric Ultrasound and then the PG dip in O&G Ultrasound from the University of Wales . During my specialist training I was exposed to all areas of Obstetrics and Gynaecology . My private practice does not include Obstetrics . In Gynaecology , I have a broad experience . Currently , I hold a Lead Role for Endometriosis in my trust . I am also a BMS accredited Menopause Specialist and see complex Menopause patients regularly in my clinics including Post Menopausal Bleeding. This also includes fitting hormone implants and Mirena coils for HRT regimens . In general Gynaecology I see a wide range of conditions including heavy menstrual bleeding , endometriosis , pelvic pain , PCOS , Lichen sclerosis , Bartholin's gland problems , GUSM , management of prolapse with pessaries . Surgically , I perform MAS from diagnostic laparoscopy , hysterectomy , oophorectomy , ovarian cystectomy , salpingectomy , vaginal hysterectomy/ lap assisted vaginal hysterectomy +/- pelvic floor repair. Hysteroscopy , both with local or general anaesthetic with therapeutic procedures such as resection of endometrial polyps , endometrial ablation both radio-frequency and microwave and fitting of Mirena coils .
