Mr John Grabham

I am the Senior Colorectal Surgeon at Surrey and Sussex NHS Trust. I was appointed as Consultant Surgeon in 2001. I trained at specialist units in the Trent, Glasgow and Wessex region, ultimately as Senior Registrar to Professor Bill Heald, the World authority on rectal cancer surgery. I have developed a clinical practice in Surrey which was reviewed by the National Lead for Colorectal Cancer and described as equal to the best in the country. I led the development of the Department for Digestive Diseases, establishing a multi-disciplinary team of physicians and surgeons and building a new wing of the hospital dedicated to the management of gastrointestinal diseases. I now concentrates on clinical work which is principally focussed upon the investigation and management of patients with bowel diseases. I am qualified as a British Society of Gastroenterology “gold standard” colonoscopist and also have a busy practice in the surgical management of hernias. I am married to Pippa and we have twin children, Tom and Fiona, who were born in 2007. We have a small farm in West Sussex and breed and train horses for Dressage.
