Appointed at University College London Hospitals in 1995 Fellowships in Boston, USA, Sydney Australia and Bern Switzerland Awarded American British Canadian travelling fellowship in 2000 Specialising in Hip surgery in particular hip preservation surgery and total hip replacement. Member of the British Hip Society and International Society for Hip Arthroscopy and Hip Preservation Surgery. Member of the International Hip Society. Over many years has run courses on hip preservation surgery at the British Hip Society as well as Early Intervention In Hip Surgery meeting. Faculty member at national and international meetings, including the European Hip Society, EFORT, Bern Hip meeting, AO Hip Preservation Course, London Hip Meeting Has been in the forefront of surgery for femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), Hip Arthroscopy and Hip Dysplasia and has developed a minimally invasive technique for Periacetabular Osteotomy (PAO) Has published on hip arthroplasty, and PAO and FAI - see under Witt J D on Pubmed NHS practice at UCLH is a national referral unit for young adult hip surgery, Hip Arthroscopy and Periacetabular Osteotomy Research interests include total hip replacement in young patients, Ceramic on ceramic hip replacement, Direct anterior approach total hip replacement, Outcomes of PAO surgery and FAI surgery
