Ms Jihene El Kafsi

Ms El Kafsi is a Consultant Upper GI & Bariatric Surgeon and is available to see patients with a variety of conditions including gallstones, acid reflux, and hernias. She has a specialist interest in hiatal hernia, reflux and achalasia surgery and performs the BRAVO procedure. She performs hiatus hernia surgery, reflux surgery including LINX implantation, fundoplication, Achalasia surgical and therapeutic endoscopy. She also has a specialist interest in weight loss surgery in the NHS and has performed over 200 gastric bypasses and sleeve gastrectomies. She became a consultant in bariatric surgery at Ashford and St Peter’s NHS Foundation Trust in 2020. She undertook her surgical training in Oxford, having qualified from Cambridge University and UCL. She completed two specialist post-CCT specialist fellowships in Upper GI surgery (stomach and gullet) and weight loss surgery at UCLH and New Zealand. She was appointed to Frimley Health NHS in 2019 and has since set up a GI Physiology service in Heatherwood Hospital (Ascot) to investigate reflux and oesophageal motility conditions. She sits on various Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh committees, as well as Upper GI associations (AUGIS/BBUGSS) Councils with an interest in education. She regularly organises, participates in and runs webinars, courses, conferences and talks on UGI and weight loss surgery nationally.
