Mr Jibril Osman Farah

A.    Personal Statement Mr J Osman Farah received his undergraduate degree Summa cum laude in Medicine from “La Sapienza University”-Rome; completing his MD on surgery for high grade glioma. Following core surgical training rotation 1997-2001 in the UK Mr J Osman Farah completed the Intercollegiate Membership Examination MRCS(Ed). In 2006 Mr J Osman Farah finished his neurosurgical residency program (Walton centre-University of Liverpool) passing the Intercollegiate Fellowship examination FRCS(SN). Mr J Osman Farah attended as visiting neurosurgeon the epilepsy service in Bonn-Germany and the Functional and stereotactic service in Toronto-western Hospital. In 2007 Mr J Osman Farah completed a RCS accredited fellowship in Epilepsy and Functional neurosurgery in the Walton centre-NHS trust University of Liverpool.   ·        Mr J Osman Farah is the clinical lead of the Functional and Stereotactic  Neurosurgical service at the Walton centre-NHS trust Liverpool.  Appointed as Consultant Neurosurgeon in 2008 is on the GMC Specialist register since 2007. ·        Lead for MRI/FUS thalamotomy service for ET and LITT service for Epilepsy-North of Englans-NHS Eng Mr J Osman Farah is fellowship trained in Functional and Stereotactic Neurosurgery and Epilepsy. ·        Current areas of interest include; treatment of Trigeminal Neuralgia, surgery for Epilepsy, surgery for Movement disorders (DBS), spasticity, neuro-oncology (tumours in eloquent areas)  and degenerative spinal conditions. ·        Mr J Osman Farah serves  in different Institutions; he is currently the director of the Functional and Stereotactic fellowship program in the Walton centre.
