Dr Jesse Kumar

Dr Jesse Kumar is a Specialist Consultant in Endocrinology, Diabetes and General Medicine. He had his higher specialist training in South Thames Deanery (Guy's & St Thomas' Hospital - London, Kent & Sussex) and held significant posts as Lead Physician, Clinical Director and Lead for Diabetes Commissioning since his appointment at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust in 2006. Dr Kumar has a special interest in Thyroid, Adrenal, calcium, hypogonadism, weight management and general endocrinology. He is ARSAC certified to prescribe radio-active iodine for hyperthyroidism and goitre. In addition, Dr Kumar runs specialist clinics for Thyroid Radio-iodine, Thyroid Eye Disease, Treatment Pump clinic and antenatal diabetes. Dr Kumar has an established interest in research and has been the Principal Investigator on many world-wide multi-centre trials since 2006 (both phase 3 & 4) and has numerous publications/presentations in international & national journals and conferences. Dr Kumar is a firm believer in the interface of modern technology with humanities as an adjunct in his clinical consultation to deliver effective outcomes. His clinics deliver this ideology by 1. I do specialist radio-iodine clinics for thyrotoxicosis - Graves' and thyroid nodules. I see patients with thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, pituitary and sexual function (low testosterone, PCOS, prolactin) related matters.  I see all diabetes related conditions of type 1, Type 2,  Maturity Onset Diabetes Mellitus (Monogenic) and others including modern therapeutics like Insulin pumps and weight reducing therapies.  I maintain a special interest in medical weight management (Saxenda therapy). I also do diabetes and endocrine pregnancy clinics as special interest in NHS.
