Jason Eyre is a Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon, with busy NHS and Private Practices in the Leeds, Wakefield and surrounding areas. He specialises in disorders of the lower limb, with a particular interest in joint preservation and minimally invasive surgery of the Foot & Ankle. Jason has always had close ties with Yorkshire, with 3 generations of his family hailing from God’s Own County. He trained at the Leeds Medical & Dental School, graduating in 2000 with the award of MBChB. Consequently he has developed a longstanding close network of local colleagues in allied Hospital specialties, General Practice, Physiotherapy, Podiatry and Orthotics. Jason is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds, and continues to play a hand in the education of Medical Students, and Surgeons in Training. He previously sat on the National Selection Design Group, setting the annual national assessment of Junior Doctors wishing to take on Orthopaedic Training. He has an academic interest in the use of simulators and simulation in the training of surgeons, and teaches in the United Kingdom and across Europe. Jason has a strong background in Information Technology. Previously, he has represented the British Foot & Ankle Society on its IT and Outcomes committees and believes of the importance of measuring and ensuring high quality outcomes in surgery. His approach to clinical care is well informed, patient and thorough. He particularly enjoys the use of anatomical simulators and models to assure patient comprehension of both non surgical and surgical management options. He is a military reservist, and is presently the Mid Yorkshire NHS Hospitals Trust Lead for Armed Forces and Veterans care.
