Ms Jane Kerby

Miss Jane Kerby is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon based in Newcastle with a broad scope of practice. In the NHS, she specialises in cleft and facial surgery, paediatric plastic surgery, and laser treatments. In the private sector, her work focuses on rhinoplasty, facial aesthetics, breast surgery, laser treatments, and body contouring. She graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2009 and spent time working as a junior doctor in East Africa, an experience that inspired her to pursue a career in plastic surgery. She subsequently trained in leading plastic surgery units across the UK, including Cambridge, Norwich, and Oxford, where she also contributed to research in melanoma immunology. Miss Kerby completed her specialist training and advanced fellowship in the North East. She has a strong interest in humanitarian surgery and has taken part in collaborative cleft surgery projects overseas, including in the Philippines. Appointed as a Consultant in 2023, she is also the Clinical Governance Lead for the Plastic Surgery Department at Newcastle Hospitals NHS Trust, with responsibility for patient safety and quality of care. She is a trustee of the UK charity CLAPA (Cleft Lip and Palate Action). Miss Kerby is a passionate advocate for women’s choice in healthcare and is proud to offer patients in the North East the option of treatment by a female plastic surgeon. She feels privileged to support patients through life-changing procedures that restore both form and function, and values the trust placed in her by patients and their families.
