I undertook my specialist surgical training in the Southwest of England before being appointed as a Consultant General Surgeon with a special interest in colorectal surgery at the BRI in October 2011. I completed a one year fellowship in Edinburgh colorectal unit to gain specialist training in the management of complex colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and ileo-anal pouch surgery. I also completed a six months fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer and IBD. My main interest is in the management of colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease including laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer and IBD. I also offer THD and Halo procedure for haemorrhoids. i have performed over 3000 colonoscopy procedures and offer theraputic colonoscopy to my patients including endomucosal resection of large polyps and banding of haemorrhoids. In my role as an NHS consultant , I am actively involved in training , education and service development. I am clinical lead for colorectal surgery at Bristol Royal infirmary.  I have presented my research at national and international meetings and have given invited talks and lectures at these meetings. I am a consultant colorectal surgeon based in Bristol Royal Infirmary. I have a specialist interest in the management of colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis). I also treat benign ano-rectal conditions like diverticular disease, Haemorrhoids, Fissure in ano and fistula in ano.  I offer consultation to patients with varying degrees of symptoms ranging from anal pain and discomfort to abdominal pain, rectal bleeding and change in bowel habit. I offer a comprehensive service at the Spire Hospital Bristol from diagnostic testing to surgical treatment. I also provide endoscopy service for investigation of colorectal disorders, including colonoscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy and treatments such as banding of piles , which can be performed in the outpatient room as part of a consultation.
