Dr Iresha Dharmasena

Dr. Iresha Dharmasena is a Consultant Haematologist at Kent and Canterbury Hospital, part of the East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. She completed her Haematology training Post Graduate Institute of Medicine University of Colombo, Sri Lanka followed by 2 years overseas training in East Kent Hospitals university Foundation trust. She started her career as a consultant Haematologist since 2013. During her training in East Kent Hospitals she developed a special interest in treating Haematological malignancies. She rejoined the East Kent Hospitals as a consultant in 2020. Dr Iresha Dharmasena provides expert care for patients with a wide range of haemato-oncological conditions, with a particular focus on Myeloproliferative neoplasms, Myelodysplastic syndrome and lymphoid malignancies. Her commitment to advancing treatment options is reflected in her active involvement in clinical research trials across East Kent as a sub investigator. She is also passionate about medical education and involves in teaching and training of junior doctors and specialty Registrars in Haematology. Dr Iresha Dharmasena Is a well respected and valued member of East Kent Haematology community.
